John Truelson, founder and CEO, had a passion for aviation from an early age. As a child, he drew pictures of large jets, replacing their commercial logos with one of his own. Little did he know that this dream would eventually become a reality. After college, he took his first aviation job as a Flight Instructor, teaching students how to fly a plane of their own. Since then, he’s held a multitude of aviation jobs including commercial pilot, airline pilot, corporate pilot and freight pilot before he left the private sector and joined the USAF Reserves to fly the B-1 Bomber, including a combat tour in the Middle East, and currently serves as an officer in the Texas Air National Guard. It’s this diversity and range of experiences that has enabled his success as he knew exactly what worked and what needed to be improved in order to build the best — Lone Star Aviators.
Never one to follow the beaten path, John’s motto is why walk if you can fly? When not at the office, you can find him behind the wheel of a very fast car, or up in the air, doing tricks in one of his acrobatic planes. Flying is still the place where he feels most at peace. The fact that he gets to make a living doing what he loves is a gift that he never takes for granted.
